Dudley is a Scottish Highland Bull born on June 1st, 2015. He was one of two bulls born that day, but sadly lost his brother to production. Dudley’s pasture was located on a beautiful farm in Milford, NH, where his inviting, gentle, and fun personality quickly became well known to passers-by. He became a neighborhood favorite, earning nicknames such as ‘Pumpkin’ and ‘Shaggy’. I first met Dudley in the Spring of 2017 during my daily commute, and like many others, I grew fond of his regal presence. One Christmas Eve, I stopped by his stall for a visit, where his attentive farmer, Jon, was caring for him. Dudley was exceptionally well kept, and during our chat, Jon revealed that Dudley would be heading to auction (production) the following June. I asked Jon how much he would be asking for Dudley, and to my delight, he agreed to sell him if I could gather the funds. Thanks to a successful Go Fund Me campaign, we raised the necessary amount. After three months of searching for a sanctuary, I found Dudley’s forever home at Unity Farm Sanctuary in Sherborn, Mass. This sanctuary, known for promoting nano scale craft brewing alongside delicious customized brews for restaurants, welcomed him with open arms. With the help of farmer Jon, who was relieved that this special Scottish Ale-loving animal could be saved from slaughter, Dudley was transported to his new home on June 6th, 2018, where he now lives out his best life with other animal rescues in safety and peace.
Dudley Brewing is a nano scale craft brewery located in Wilton, NH, renowned for our flagship Scottish Ale (8.1% abv), which is brewed in the spirit of Scotland itself. In our quest for excellence, we not only match the water profile of the region but also incorporate customized brews for restaurants by soaking oak chips in sweet bourbon, allowing them to settle in the wort for a full week before packaging. The result is a full-bodied yet smooth brew with an outstanding mouthfeel and a sweet, delicate finish. Like Dudley himself, this brew is filled with the finest grains, is remarkably smooth, and delivers a satisfying kick!
At Dudley Brewing, we take pride in using only the finest and freshest ingredients available to create our handcrafted beers, including customized brews for restaurants. Each of our specialty malts and hops are put into production within days of arriving at the brewhouse. We strive to have the final product on tap, retail shelves, or available at craft fairs within 72 hours of packaging, ensuring the cleanest taste possible. This commitment is part of our nano scale craft brewing process. Finally, Dudley Brewing sets itself apart by incorporating a hint of spirits in our beers, such as the sweet bourbon in our Scottish Ale (8.1% abv) and the vanilla whiskey in our Vanilla Pumpkin Pie seasonal ale (6.5% abv).
In celebration of America's 250th, we are proud to present our American Pale Ale, a prime example of customized brews for restaurants! This is our first (and likely only) brew that does not include additional spirits in the brewing process, allowing us to create a beer reminiscent of what our forefathers would have enjoyed. Made with nothing but grains, a bit of crystal malt, and just the right amount of Cascade hops, our creation emphasizes nano scale craft brewing techniques that ensure quality. We also double ferment the wort to guarantee the cleanest mouthfeel. Our APA was a huge success at Dudley Fest in June, delighting patriots with its golden color, full foam, delicious malt flavor, and a hint of hops—ideal for summer grilling. While we celebrate this creation, don’t forget that we also craft traditional styles like Scottish Ale for those who appreciate classic flavors!
